Warsaw Local visited Hard Rock Cafe (Warsaw) on 5th February 2016.
The Hard Rock Cafe is world famous for its rock n’ roll attitude, museum-like decoration and American size potions. As big meat lovers, we were excited to try this out. Let’s see if they can keep up to the standard of other American style restaurants in the area.
Finding the location
In all our reviews we use the Palace of Culture and Science as a point of reference. The Hard Rock Cafe has to be one of the shortest journeys we have taken in a review. You could throw a stone from the Hard Rock Cafe and hit the Palace…. but please don’t try ?
If you’re not in the centre, then simply add: Złota 59, 00-120 Warszawa in to Google maps on a smartphone.
Prices and Menu
The menu was presented in English, but a Polish version is available too. The menu was large, but not too overwhelming.
Hard Rock nachos:
Tortilla chips piled high and layered with three bean mix, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses, pico de gallo, jalapeños and green onions. Garnished with sour cream. Add southwest chicken
Tupelo Chicken Tenders:
Hand-breaded, lightly fried tenderloins of chicken, served with mustard and hickory barbecue sauces
Grilled Chicken Quesadilla:
Grilled chicken, melted Jack cheese stuffed in a fresh flour tortilla. Served with jalapeños, sour cream, Pico de Gallo and a Tangy Bar-B-Que Sauce.
We ordered four cocktails and the total bill came to: 171zl
Our Personal Experience
Quality of food and Waiting time
We went a pretty busy time (Friday, 19:00), but there were many tables available and we were seated instantly.
We waited about four minutes for our drinks to be presented and a reasonable fifteenth minutes for our food to be served. It was all served at the same time.
Beware: the nachos are HUGE! Even though the nachos are in the ‘starter’ menu, I would not recommend these if you’re planning to order a main and in a group size of less than four people. The serving would easily fill two people or create a nice stater for a group of four. It is a small detail, but I really liked the way the nachos were curved. It allowed for easy scooping and avoided everything falling in my lap, that generally happens with flat nachos.
The dish is served with jalapenos, but don’t worry if they are not your thing. My guest can’t handle anything spicy and they were easily avoided.
The chicken tenders were great! These were more of a suitable starter size and would recommend these as a light bite for one or a great starter for two people before ordering a main. They were crispy, full of flavor and with no bones. Served with mustard and hickory barbecue sauces. Nothing to fault, great dish!
The grilled chicken quesadillas were our favorite. Served with BBQ sauce, they were the perfect light bite if you’re extra hungry. They were easy to handle when eating with your hands. Filled with cheese and chicken, perfect in every way!
We have currently visited 50+ restaurants, so we feel that we can correctly judge service, by comparing to other experiences. The Hard Rock Cafe provided us with the BEST service we have ever received!. We were blown away! We were greeted by a very polite lady who seated us, and then a really cool and energetic waiter join us to ask if we would like anywhere to drink. We were unsure of the cocktail menu and he took the time explain his recommendations. Even though he was very busy throughout the night, he still took the time to really speak to us and make us feel special.
I accidentally drop a napkin on the floor, and another staff member noticed this, pick it up and brought us new ones. It is only a small detail, but we felt like royalty.
Half way through our meal, we had finished our drinks and the waiter asked if we wanted another drink. We wanted to try something new, but again was unsure. The waiter asked us what flavors we like, we commented strawberry and the waiter replied with a comment that we will bring us the best strawberry-based drink they had. He was correct it saying it was the best!
We can honestly say this is the best service you can find in Warsaw! Ten out of ten!
Decor and Atmosphere
The venue is more of a museum, than a restaurant. Even if you’re not eating this place is worth checking out!
The atmosphere was great and lively. My guest found the music a little too loud, but what do you expect from a place with ‘Hard Rock’ in the name?
As someone who does not speak Polish, visiting a location that doesn’t have an English menu or English speaking member of staff can be a bit of a gamble. The Hard Rock Cafe fame themselves on being an American restaurant, and as it is our job to review these elements, I planned to be a bit of a tricky customer with lots of questions. I asked for recommendations, asked what the difference between two dishes were, asked questions about the venue and history. Every question was answered in perfect English! There was no miscommunication or misunderstandings. I spoke with three different members of staff and they all had the same level.
Room for Improvement and things to note
You can’t find a fault in the Hard Rock Cafe. It has the most central location, amazing quality food, bilingual staff and a cool select of drinks. The only one thing to note is that this location is not the cheapest. If you’re on a tight budget and money is an issue then you might find this to be out of your price range.
Overall, we loved our visit to the Hard Rock Cafe! We would fully recommend you check it out if you enjoy great food and amazing serve! The Hard Rock Cafe would make an amazing Birthday party location or a great spot for a catch up with a large group. Hard Rock Cafe gets the Warsaw Local stamp of approval.
