Red Line Metro line closed on Sunday

On Sunday 13th May 2018 all stations of the red metro line will be closed. Between the Rondo Daszyńskiego and the Dworzec Wileński there will be buses in place

The M2 closing is related to the yearly inspection to ensure the safety of the line. Checking the technical condition and conducting tests require closing the entire section to be closed to the public. A standard inspection is normally completed in the night time, however as this is a major inspection it can take up to 24 hours. The City Transport Authority explains that they chose Sunday because at the time the least passengers use the subway and no mass events are planned.

Between the Rondem Daszyńskiego and the Dworcem Wileńskim the ZM2 bus will run every 8-10 minutes. In addition, bus 105 will increase its route time to include more stations that might be impacted by the closure.
